The Greater Turkan River gold mine is located in the Aldan district of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), 180 kilometers southeast of Aldan city, with an area of 19.72 square kilometers. The gold-bearing layers consist mainly of sandstone, sandstone of alluvium in the early glacial period, and the bottom rock represented by granite gneiss. According to the mining method, it is divided into two mining fields: open pit mining and underground mining. The average gold content in open-pit mining is 2.25g/m3; the average gold content in underground mining is 7.55g/m3. The total gold content in the mining area of the Greater Turkan Gold Mine is about 101 tons.
