Siberia is a vast area of North Asia, with the Ural Mountains in the west, the Chukchi Peninsula in the east, the Arctic Ocean in the north, the mountains in the north-central of Kazakhstan in the southwest, and the Mongolian and Outering Mountains in the south, with an area of approximately 13 million square kilometers. With the exception of the southwestern end, it is almost entirely within Russia. According to the terrain, Siberia can be divided into three parts: the West Siberian Plain, the Central Siberian Plateau, and the Eastern Siberian Mountains.
